Is CBA an accredited educational institution?

Yes, it is. CBA has got unlimited accreditation, and our college has been entitled to issue Higher education diplomas acknowledged by the state.

Yes, it is. CBA is entitled to provide first level professional higher education. First level professional higher education is the shortest way to getting higher education.

What is the length of studies at CBA?

The length of studies is 2.5 years.

What are the qualifications one can get at CBA?

At CBA one can get the following qualifications:

What kind of diploma is issued by CBA?

CBA graduates get first level professional higher education diplomas.

Should CBA students work? Is it a must?

It is great if you have work experience; however, if you don’t it is not an obstacle to start studies. Distance Education is preferred by people who feel the lack of time, thus, this form of studies is especially suitable for working people.

Will I get a student’s ticket, and what is the use of it?

Surely, you will get a student’s ticket. A student’s ticket gives you the right to use CBA library and reading room as well as the services of all the libraries included in “Consortium of library information networks” – Latvian Academic Library, Latvian Agricultural Academy Fundamental Library, Latvian Medicine Academy Library, Latvian National Library, Patent Technical Library, Latvian University Library, and Medical Scientific Library – keeping to the rules of each of the mentioned libraries.

What is Distance Education?

Distance Education is the form of studies, especially suitable for working people. It means more self-study, fewer fulltime lectures, which gives the opportunity to plan the time for studies on one’s own. Every term a student gets the set of specially elaborated students’ books, which contain all the necessary materials for the course.

Are there entrance examinations at CBA?

Entrance examinations are provided for high schools having limited resources (premises, budget). As we are offering distance learning, which has no limitations, entrance examinations are not carried out at CBA.

How frequent are the lectures at CBA?

Either fulltime lectures are carried out once a month on Sundays from 9.30 a.m. till 5 p.m. or Thursdays from 6 p.m. till 9 p.m., or video lectures are offered.

When does a student get study materials?

Study materials are available at the beginning of each term.

When do studies start at CBA?

First term – in October and in March.
Other terms – in September and February.

If at the time of an exam or a test I am on my business trip, is there a possibility to take the exam or the test some other time?

Tests and examinations can be taken with the group as well as individually, signing up in advance at CBA Studies support centre.

What is tuition fee?

Tuition fee is 445 LVL per term. Programme “Jurisprudence” - 495 LVL per term.

Can one get a loan for studies at CBA?

Yes, sure. The maximum study loan, defined by the state, for CBA programmes is 936 LVL per year.

Is it possible to split the payment?

When starting studies, you should pay a full fee for the 1-st term. Starting from the 2-nd term, there is a possibility to split the fee over 5-months’ period.
