Work smart: LEAN instruments for productivity improvement

For a company which production range is as wide as VALPRO, effectiveness is a key to survival and competitiveness. In order to be able to produce hundreds of models of fire extinguishers and fuel cans, the manufacturing process must be arranged in such a way that work is done without any unnecessary activity. As VALPRO is currently the world’s largest producer of metal fuel cans and the largest supplier of these products to the armies of the NATO member states, there is also a need to meet a number of specific security and quality requirements.

Since 2014 the second largest company of city Valmiera has purposefully implemented various LEAN philosophy principles and around 10 different efficiency tools have been tested and applied. One of the most important methods currently practiced is SMED – how to replace and reorganize the product line as soon as possible so that the production process, where each product undergoes different specific stages of production, takes place without unnecessary losses of time, human resources and other losses.

During the workshop:

  • SMED method;
  • Fast reorganization method (for products, instruments, equipment);
  • SMED 7 steps, benefits;
  • SMED simulation game;
  • Closing discussion.

The workshop will be led by RUSLANS SOSINOVIČS
Expert of Production Management, LEAN, TOC Implementation. Certified ISO System Auditor. At present he is the Head of the Production Service of the company SIA VALPRO, Head of LEAN and TOC within the company. He develops strategies for business directions and development, provides staff training on LEAN, TOC and other efficiency methods.

Board Member of the Association of Business Efficiency (BEA), BEA Certified LEAN Expert.

Using extensive knowledge and practical experience in managing the VALPRO Production Service, various types of personnel training on LEAN, TOC and other efficiency methods, Ruslans is able to find the most appropriate solution to increase production efficiency and improve business performance.

Santa Leiboviča - Biznesa, personīgās efektivitātes un komandas koučs Workshops
Organization as alive system

It is time to change your vision of what the organization is and what the people in it are. The 100-years-old idea that organization is a controllable mechanism that can be managed is outdated and does not meet the current uncertainty and requirements for flexibility and cooperation with the market and the parties involved. By stopping to look at organization as a structure or a set of things, we can see it as an alive system that has its own destiny, guiding principles and dynamics that affect how it is to be and work in that organization.

The workshop will be led by SANTA LEIBOVIČA
Systemic and Management Team Couch (PCC ICF), Systemic Consultant and Associate Trainer at Systemic Constellations centre Riga. More than 10 years of experience in coaching and business training. Specialized in working with management teams. Has obtained the International Coach Federation Professional Accreditation PCC (Professional Certified Coach) level, which confirms more than 500 coaching lessons. Has studied the systemic approach at the Moscow Institute for Systemic Solutions and Consulting as well as the Hellinger Institute in the Netherlands.
